Like many people, I am a big fan of Game of Thrones (both the books & TV series). In honor of the 5th season premiere last night, I invited a few friends over to watch and enjoy a Game of Thrones inspired dinner. The star of the evening was easily my bite sized lemon pound cakes.

My lemon pound cake is definitely one of my family and friends favorite cakes that I make.

A bundt cake, however, wasn’t exactly what I was looking for, so I figured I’d look and see what Nordic ware had to offer for smaller desserts. Their Teacake Plaque was exactly what I was looking for and luckily my local William Sonoma had one in stock for $36.

The mini pound cakes turned out great and were exactly one bite which made them the perfect thing to eat while watching the premier. I can’t, however, take credit for coming up with the recipe for the lemon pound cake. That honor goes to Nick Malgieri, the author of my favorite cookbook for cake recipes, aptly named “Perfect Cakes”. If you don’t have a copy of his book, you can find the recipe for this Lemon Pound Cake on his website. For the bite-sized version, I increased the temperature on the oven to 350F and baked them from 16 to 20 minutes. I removed them immediately from the pan and glazed them while they were still warm. One recipe made about 120 teacakes.

While fantastic for a Game of Thrones viewing party, these would also be great for a bridal or baby shower. I hope you enjoy them as much as we did!
