There is nothing more exciting than discovering a cool new brand and what’s even better is knowing that company gives back whether it’s through donations or knowing your purchase supports a certain community! We decided to round up our top 5 favorite companies that give back with every purchase!
1. 31 Bits
I first discovered 31 Bits thanks to my Spring 2016 FabFitFun box which included a $25 gift card to their store. Their jewelry line is hand crafted by Ugandan women who through their program are provided with counseling, health education, finance training, and business mentorships. Everything they do for these women is funded entirely by product sales! Even better all of the beads used to make their jewelry are 100% recycled paper! My first purchase was this beauty and I’m still eyeing up this necklace and this bracelet!
Coming from Penn State, supporting the battle against pediatric cancer is near and dear to our hearts. Each year, our school raised millions of dollars for the fight through a philanthropy known as THON. This is one of the reasons we LOVE Love Your Melon. This company blew up on social media this past winter! The idea started with two friends in an entrepreneurship class and now is a booming business. 50% of every purchase goes to support the fight against pediatric cancer. On top of that, they have donated thousands of hats to kids with cancer! While they started out just selling beanies, they have expanded their products this summer to include ball caps, beach hats and apparel. Be sure to sign up for their emails and follow on them on social media. They usually launch new products randomly (usually a Monday night) and things sell out QUICK.
3. Out of Print
I can’t remember exactly how I discovered this brand but am I sure glad I did. If you are a big reader like my sister and I OR have a friend who is, we’ve pretty much have your next gift for them picked out thanks to Out of Print. They sell book inspired apparel and accessories and when I say it’s the cutest stuff I’ve ever seen, I am not joking. I mean just check out this old school library card mug, these Edgar Allen Poe-ka dot socks, Alice in Wonderland t-shirt or this Nancy Drew tote . And my favorite section, their book inspired pennants! I cannot get enough of them! Each product sold means a book donated to a community in need!
4. Sevenly
Each week Sevenly launches a new campaign which features a new charity or cause with beautifully designed apparel to go with it. 7% of purchases for that week go to that cause! So far they’ve raised over 4.4 million dollars for their various campaigns! This week in honor of Memorial Day, donated funds will go on to support building homes for veterans seriously injured while serving our country! I really am loving this shirt (which also comes in mint) and this shirt or this tank would be perfect for Fourth of July!
Based out of LA, The Giving Keys helps to support those affected by homelessness! Not only do they hire and support these people but they are also partnered up with three great organizations in order to help people transition into a more stable lifestyle. The Giving Keys creates really unique and beautiful key jewelry. Not only can you get them engraved with encouraging words such as “fearless” “believe” or “courage” but you can also custom engrave some of their jewelry too! I personally love their dainty keys like this one , their key cuffs and their petite locks which are perfect for layering! These keys make the best gifts. Find a key that describes your loved one and with your purchase you are making a difference in a few peoples lives! Not much is cooler than that!
