Returning to the cool spring weather in New Jersey after a week in South Carolina & Georgia has me ready for summer. For me, lemon desserts always make me think of summer. Since Tori & I didn’t have time to make it to Paula Deen’s restaurant in Savannah, I figured why not add a summery spin on one of my favorite of her dessert recipes – Gooey Butter Cake.
The recipe below is adapted from Paula Deen’s Original Gooey Butter Cake. This recipe is perfect for any function that you need to whip up something quick for. Even though you need to make two separate batters, it’s super quick and is always a crowd-pleaser.
