Today we’re finishing out our Father’s Day week posts with a review of one of our dad’s favorite restaurants, Taphouse 23. There are a few reasons this restaurant makes it to the top of our dad’s list. One is as the name implies there are 23 beers on tap and a staff who can help you pick out the perfect one for you. The second is they not only have a beautiful, upscale space inside but an amazing patio complete with fire pits, a water fall, and palm trees. Yup, that’s right real life palm trees, right here in Pennsylvania. Another reason this is one of our dad’s favorite places is because it’s only a few blocks from his office which makes it perfect for a quick lunch or after work happy hour. Of course, none of these things would matter if they didn’t have some pretty delicious food too.
We’ve been coming to Taphouse 23 literally since their opening night last November and so needless to say, we’ve tried quite a few items on their menu. The best bang for your buck by far (especially if you’re coming with a group) is the nachos which are piled a mountain high are are absolutely delicious. We recommend getting chicken instead of the beef! Our next favorite item is their flat breads which are only $4 during happy hour on Fridays.
If we haven’t filled up on nachos and flat breads, we typically get one the sandwiches or burgers for our meal. Some of our favorites are the rueben, roasted porchetta, and the bacon cheeseburger.
For dessert we’re a huge fan of their homemade ice cream, especially when pistachio is on the list! While we haven’t been to the Taphouse for brunch yet, we’ve heard good things. Plus, if you’re in the area and your dad is a beer lover, they still have reservations available for brunch this Sunday!
