Drink This: Dogfish Head Tweason’ale

Whenever I head to the liquor store, I always make it a point to wander through the craft beer section just to see what’s new. This week I stumbled across Dogfish Head’s Tweason’ale. While this beer has been on shelves since early 2012, this was the first time I had run across it.

I was immediately intrigued. It’s not often you see a craft beer that’s gluten free. Tweason’ale is made using sorghum, a grain from the grass family that is used for a variety of things including making gluten free alcoholic beverages. Along with the sorghum syrup, Tweason’ale is brewed with strawberries and buckwheat honey.

The total effect is a fruity beer with an almost mead-like finish. Out of all the fruity beers I’ve tried, this one is definitely one of the better ones. It’s super drinkable and will be delicious poolside this summer. Whether you’re gluten free or not, this a great beer to check out this summer!
