Drink Here: Prism Brewing Company

I think you all know by now that our whole family loves a good craft beer. The beers from Prism Brewing Company definitely fit into that category and have the added benefit of being brewed less than 2 miles from where we grew up. If you live in the greater Philadelphia area and haven’t visited the Prism Brewing Company Taproom, you’re definitely missing out! With 8 beers on tap, some delicious bar bites, the big game on the tv, and specials throughout the week there is definitely a little something for everyone.

Since it had been a while since I’d been there last, I decided to go with the half flight which gives you a choice of 4 beer samples for only $7 (The full flight is all 8 beers for $14). I tried the Bitto Honey, ParTea Pale Ale, Red Zone, and Green Street Ale. While all were delicious, this time of year Red Zone is always my favorite since it’s served with a cinnamon & sugar rim. My mom went with the Red Zone and my dad decided to try the Felony IPA.

To go along with our delicious beers, we ordered some fried pickles and bacon fingers. The fried pickles are one of my favorite versions and definitely my favorite thing on the menu. They are coated in a spicy breadcrumb, fried to perfection and served with a delicious sauce. Plus since they are pickle chips and not spears, they are super munchable. The bacon fingers were just thick cut crispy bacon with a great sweet and spicy dipping sauce. Another favorite on the menu is the pretzels.

Right now Prism is located a bit off the beaten track (they even have a sign saying yes you’re going the right way), but in the next few months they will be moving right onto Main St. in Lansdale in the shopping center next to the YMCA. I can’t wait to check out the new space!

Have you checked out Prism Brewing Company? What beer do you think we should be sure not to miss?
