Throwback Thursday: Beach Themed Bridal Shower

As Tori is getting ready for bride-to-be and #WeddingWednesday guest blogger Sarah’s bridal shower this weekend, we thought we’d throw back to the last bridal shower we threw– a beach themed bridal shower for our sister-in-law a little over two years ago! I must say that the bridal shower was definitely one of the smoothest running and most put together events I’ve ever done. It’s not often that within ten minutes of the first guest arriving you can step completely away from the kitchen and just enjoy the party. The shower was held at our parents house on a Saturday afternoon and so the menu consisted of heavy hor’dourves and desserts.  Below you’ll find our delicious menu!

Afternoon Bites

For the afternoon bites, we tried to do a mix of hot & cold and light & heavy appetizers. We were also sure to include some family favorites from both our side and our sister-in-laws.

Ricotta, Fig, Basil, & Honey Dip with Pita Chips

Chicken Salad in Cucumber Cupsphoto_6

Roast Beef & Provolone Sliders with Roasted Red Pepper, Arugula, & Garlic Herb Mayo

Turkey & Brie Sliders with Cranberry Sauce

Pigs in a Blanket with Mustard

Mini Crab Cakes with Cocktail Sauce

Melon & Prosciuttophoto_1-002

Roasted Tomatoes with Bleu Cheese

Dessert

I absolutely love doing desserts that are all bite sized so that everyone can try whatever they want and not feel too guilty. We were sure to include some of the bride and grooms favorite desserts while keeping with the blue & yellow colors and beach theme!

Mini Lemon Sunflower Cupcakes with Mini Oreo Centers & Mini M&M Ladybugsphoto_1-007

Mini Red Velvet Cupcakes with Blue Sprinkles & Chocolate White Hearts

Heart Shaped Lemon & Blueberry French Macaronsphoto_1-005

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Seashell Chocolates

Beach Pail Cheesecakesphoto_4-002

Swedish Fish & Sea Life

Summer & Watermelon Oreos

Party Favors

It took us a while to decide what to do for party favors, but cream cheese mints made using seashell molds in blue and white ended up being perfect!
